The 卡森城 公共监护人 (CCPG) serves as guardian, 由法庭委任, for vulnerable adults aged 18 or older who are unable to manage their personal and/or financial affairs. CCPG coordinates provision of services; provides informed consents; and protects, 保存, and manages the assets of our protected persons.

The CCPG is considered the guardian of last resort when there is no family member, 朋友, or other appropriate person to perform the duties as a guardian.
The CCPG only serves as guardian for those who qualify as a current resident of 卡森城, and are within the scope of NRS 253.200 which outlines the qualifications for whom the public guardian of the county may be appointed.

Petitioning for guardianship is a court process that requires specific legal paperwork completed and submitted by either an individual or an attorney. 根据NRS 159.044, anyone may petition the court for the service of the 公共监护人. If you intend to petition for the 公共监护人 to service as guardian for an individual, please forward a copy of the petition, the Acknowledgment of 公共监护人 as required by NRS 253.200, and all notices of hearings.

Below is some general information that may be helpful:

• 家人或朋友, 如果合适的话, have first priority to serve as guardian of an individual instead of the 公共监护人. We ask that you contact family members and 朋友s regarding the possibility of serving as guardian before you contact us.
• Please provide all requested documentation, as well as any other information you think may be pertinent to our review of the case.
• Once the requested documentation has been submitted to our office, please keep us informed of any significant changes (i.e., medical condition, residence, family involvement, etc.) regarding the proposed protected person.
